Ithaca island is the second smaller island of the Ionian Sea after Paxi. It is situated northeast of Kefalonia, to which it belongs administratively, at a distance of 2 nm. Ulysses’ homeland according to Homer. It has become the symbolic destination of every homeland since Homer’s epos Odyssey which describes the adventurous return of Ulysses, king of Ithaca, after the Trojan war. Ithaca Greece, though poor in wealth-producing resources, is one of the prettier in the Ionian Sea. |

Vegetated, with picturesque villages, whose architecture hasn’t altered by the recent tourist development, many small bays and mostly pebble beaches with enchanting crystal green and blue water. Vathi is the capital, a beautiful, picturesque fish village. The one sure thing is that Ithaca will capture you. The poet Konstantinos Kavafis wrote in his poem “Ithaca”: |
