Skala

Skala is the southernmost village of Kefalonia, 30km from Argostoli, capital of the island (12km from the neighbouring village of Poros) and one of the most well-organized tourist resorts. In Skala, operate several hotels and apartments.

Here, you should visit the many picturesque villages in the area, the remains of a Roman villa with spectacular mosaics, which have been excavated near the picturesque village of Skala, and just two kilometers from the village, the ruins of the temple of Apollo. In the area is also the famous cave Sakkos, in which were found objects dating from prehistoric times.

When visiting Skala, you can swim in the magnificent long beach of Skala, one of the busiest and most beautiful on the island, with the possibility of water sports. However, if you want to avoid the crowds, you can go to small isolated beaches in the region. The area of Skala owes its strong tourism growth in recent years on these beaches that stretch to this southernmost tip of Kefalonia and the magnificent vegetation.
