Valsamata
Valsamata is a village on the plateau of Omalos, in the community of Omalon. In Valsamata there is the church of the saint protector of the island, Aghios Gerasimos, where his relics are kept. It is a quite impressive monastery that attracts thousands of visitors every year. Close to the monastery there is the cave of Aghios Gerasimos, in which he cloistered to pray.
In the region, there is the village of Peratata, a village 8km from Argostoli with the monastery of Aghios Andreas of Milapidia (13th century) where an ecclesiastic museum operates since 1988.

A beach with white sand and small pebbles with length of 1 km. You may also practice water sports here. From the beach there is a wonderful view to Aenos mountain. It is at Livathou, in south Kefalonia.
