Aghia Pelaghia

Aghia Pelaghia is a seaside village in the north of the island, 26 km from Hora (the capital of the island) and belongs to the tourist resorts of Kythira. It is one of the two ports of the island and has regular links with Neapoli (Laconia, Peloponnese), Gythio (Laconia, Peloponnese), Monemvasia (Laconia, Peloponnese) and Antikythira. In the region, especially in recent years, have been created hotels, and along the coastal road there are restaurants, cafes and tourist shops.

The beach of Aghia Pelaghia is organized and is ideal for water sports and beach volley, while within walking distance of the village, you will find other beaches, such as Fyri Ammos beach, with red sand (as its name means), the beach of Lorentzo, preferred by the nudists and the beach of Lagada, where concludes the gorge of Paleochora.

Sand-Beach

A beach with thin sand, ideal for swimming when west or south winds are blowing. St Pelagia beach isn’t organized, but nearby you will find cafés, restaurants, mini markets and other tourist shops. The beach is at the northeast side of Kithira and stretches along St Pelagia village. It has a very easy access because it’s a part of the main road.
