Lefkada beaches
Lefkas may be the island with the most famous beaches for their wild and rare beauty as well as for their ideal conditions for water sports like kite surfing and windsurfing.
Beautiful easily accessible beaches you may find at the south part of the island where you may swim, practice water sports and enjoy your coffee by the beach. The south side is famous for its warm and calm water. The beaches are smooth with shallow water. If you have an inflatable yacht, or if you rent a boat, you may swim in isolated beaches and visit Prigiponisia (Madouri, Scorpios) as well as Meganisi, Kalamos and Kastoς.
Magnificent and extraordinary are also the beaches of the Ionian Sea. Porto Katsiki beach, unique in Greece, sets apart: Beautiful beaches, golden, endless sandbanks, blue water, vegetated as well as wild and imposing beauty. It worth being here during the sunset.

Beaches in north lefkas, near Lefkas town

A famous golden sandy beach with green and blue water stretching for about 5 km. It isn’t organized, but is one of the most renown for water sports like kite surfing, with frantic fans from all over Europe, because of its strong winds. The beach scenery is completed by traditional windmills. It was named after the church with the same name.
It is at the northwest part of the island, next to the island’s capital (3 km from Lefkas town) and it is easily accessible.

An excellent sandy beach with turquoise water, organized and crowded. It is situated in the famous tourist settlement with the same name at the west side of the island which preserves its traditional style and authenticity. An ideal destination for swimming and good food. It is 12 km from the town.

Wonderful, sandy beach, ideal for water sports in the protected settlement of St. Nikita. The water is crystal and deepens abruptly. You may go there by boat from the village or walking through the small trail beginning next to the beach of the village, at the point where the boulders end (is somewhat tiring).
There aren't any stores, nor canteens and you should take with you provisions especially water.

One of the best beaches in Lefkas, at the south side in Vasiliki bay, 37 km from Lefkas town. Vasiliki is known for its Water sports festival with participations from all over the world. Ideal for surfing due to its wind which is coming from above and descends towards the valley’s empty space, thus creating the best conditions for this sport.
Due to the morphology of the area the west side of the bay is lee with calm water, preferred by water ski and water games lovers. You may find here water sport schools, many accommodation facilities, taverns, restaurants, cafes and shops.
Vasiliki is the south port of Lefkas which connects it with Kefalonia and Ithaca.
Along Vasiliki bay there are many extraordinary beaches with the most important being Agiofili (accessed only by boat) and Alektori.
