Vassiliki

Vassiliki is located in the centre of south Lefkada. It is one of the most frequented tourist resorts in Lefkada, a typical Greece fishing village, placed in a wooded area. The winds that are generated in the gulf of Ponti and the climatologic conditions of the area have classed Vassiliki in the top 10 beaches of the world for windsurfing. From here, start little boats for the worldwide famous beach of Porto Katsiki, as well as daily itineraries to Ithaca and Kefalonia.

Here, besides windsurfing, you can do sightseeing; you can visit the findings of the Palaeolithic and Neolithic Age, in the location Hirospilia of Efgiros, old oil presses, “early industrial monuments”, at Dragano and Vournika, the old Water Mill, at Syrvos, that also operates as café, the temple of Apollo, in Lefkatas cape and the ancient area in Aghios Kirikos, at Athani village. According to the archeological service, in the valley of Vassiliki there are dispersed ancient building relics that are likely to belong to the ancient town, but systematic excavations are still to be started.

Excellent beach at the south side of the island, at the bottom of a boulder, at the end of Vasiliki bay. The beach is isolated, with pebbles and crystal clear water. You may go to Agiofili by boat from Vasiliki.

One of the best beaches in Lefkas, at the south side in Vasiliki bay, 37 km from Lefkas town. Vasiliki is known for its Water sports festival with participations from all over the world. Ideal for surfing due to its wind which is coming from above and descends towards the valley’s empty space, thus creating the best conditions for this sport.

Due to the morphology of the area the west side of the bay is lee with calm water, preferred by water ski and water games lovers. You may find here water sport schools, many accommodation facilities, taverns, restaurants, cafes and shops.

Vasiliki is the south port of Lefkas which connects it with Kefalonia and Ithaca.

Along Vasiliki bay there are many extraordinary beaches with the most important being Agiofili (accessed only by boat) and Alektori.

Sandy beach with impressive green water. A beach you must visit! It is near Porto Katsiki, 3 km from Athani village at the southwest. It is easily accessible, but to get to the beach you should leave your vehicle and descend a lot of steps.

Beautiful and quiet pebble beach with crystal clear water deep in Rouda bay, under Poros village in southeast Lefkas. The sea is almost always calm because it is in a lee bay and is ideal for quiet and calm vacations. Poros is 27 km from Lefkas town.

One of the prettier beaches in the Mediterranean with blond, thick sand and crystal clear blue water. It has received many awards for its wild beauty and most certainly is the beach you must visit!. It is after Athani village at the southwest, 45 km from Lefkas town, and the road might seem demanding.
