Paxi Settlements and Destinations

Kaltsonissi: Small, green islet near Paxos Island. On the islet, you should visit the church of Aghios Spyridonas, built in the 15th century.

Moggonissi: It is a bay at the southeastern part of Paxos Island, with the famous caves, where Niriides lived, according to Athinagoras.

Sea Caves: The western side of Paxos island is sheer, with steep hills and sea caves. It is said that the big cave, located under Vassilatika settlement, is connected with Ipapanti (Hypapante) church. The only thing that is for sure is that inside this cave the submanrine “Papanikolis” has been hidden during the World War II and that is evidential of the size of the cave.
